DONNINGTON PARK - WORLD SUPERBIKE ROUND

Great start to the week-end, weather is dry and sunny and I have the second fastest lap time today in practise.

13.3.11

I'm just back from a great weekend at Mallory Park in Leicestershire.  Saturday qualifying was frustrating as I had bad clutch slip so that resulted in 11th place on the grid which left me with a lot of work to do for the race.  But I pushed hard to get up with the front runners and finished in 4th place which was my best result to date in dry conditions and I set the fastest lap time.  So I was looking forward to Sunday's challenge to try and better that.  The race was declared a "wet race" as it was damp and drizzly so I was definitely up to the challenge as I prefer wet weather racing.  My hard work earned me 2nd place and my first podium finish ever.  The track had dried up for race 2 and the leading pack set a very fast pace.  I tried to hold onto 4th position but with a gearshift selector problem it was difficult to keep with them.  So I was happy to secure 7th place and more points towards the 2011 Championship.

The Superteens Championship will be televised on Eurosport throughout the season, schedules will be announced on the Thundersport GB website and also the Thundersport facebook page.

I hope this is a good omen for the forthcoming season and I can obtain consistant top ten results.

My next outing is at Donnington Park alongside the World Superbike Series on March 25-27th.  This round will be a massive boost to the series and all of the Superteens riders as we aspire to these top riders and aim to compete in series such as World Superbikes ourselves one day.

23.2.11

Well I'll have my first taste of tracktime tomorrow at Donnington Park on a trackday with No Limits.  My bikes have been prepared ready to face the 2011 season which starts on 11-13th March at Mallory. But I've got a testday with Thundersports on Sunday 27th Feb to get together with the other competitors who'll be competing in this year's Superteens challenge.  I've been trying to get to grips with trials bike riding to keep up my fitness and improve my balance. It's quite fun and very muddy but I still miss being out on track.
